About Say Toucan
Say Toucan is a feedback board for product teams. You create a board, share the link, and the people who use your product post ideas, upvote the ones they care about and comment on them. On your side, requests move onto a public roadmap with planned, in progress and live columns, and a changelog tells subscribers when something ships. The free tier has no limits on boards, posts or voters, and the single paid tier costs $2 a month.
The problem it exists to solve is partly the problem of the category. Feedback boards aren't complicated software, but the established products charge like they are, and Say Toucan positions itself as the cheap, sustainable alternative. Its comparison page puts the numbers side by side against Canny, Upvoty, Sleekplan, UserJot, Featurebase, Nolt and Frill, with custom domains at $15 a month up to custom pricing elsewhere, removing vendor branding at $25 to $149 a month elsewhere, and private boards ranging from free to $149 a month. Here, all of those sit in the $2 tier, and the site notes the competitor prices were checked on 6 September 2026.
The mechanics are what you'd expect from a board that's been thought through. Users submit requests and vote. Teams tag posts, assign them, merge duplicates into one thread, leave internal notes that voters don't see, and set custom statuses. Moving a request onto the roadmap and posting a changelog entry closes the loop with the people who asked, and email notifications keep them informed without anyone chasing. There's an import from Upvoty for teams switching over, and the site runs its own feature board on the product, alongside a live example board for a dashcam project.
Getting a board live is short work. Create the board, pick the statuses you want to show, and put the link in your app's help menu, footer or onboarding email. Because it's public by default, the board also works as a lightweight roadmap page, so the same link answers the question of what's coming next. Private boards, for a beta group or an internal team, are the Pro option.
For a user of your product, the experience is simple. They land on the board, see what others have asked for, vote instead of filing a duplicate, and subscribe to the changelog if they want to hear when it ships. That lowers the volume of repeated requests reaching support, and it gives the loudest asks a number next to them, which is the point of voting in the first place. The changelog is a small feature with an outsized effect. Every entry goes out by email to whoever subscribed, so the people who voted for something find out when it ships without checking back, and the board stops being a place where requests go to die.
It's for small software teams, indie developers and early-stage companies that want a public place to collect and rank requests without paying a per-seat or per-tracked-user fee. Larger organizations with integration needs, single sign-on requirements or a demand for analytics will find the scope narrow, and that narrowness is deliberate. The pitch is a board you can run for years without the pricing page becoming a problem.
What sets it apart is the pricing posture more than any single feature. Unlimited boards, unlimited posts and unlimited voters on the free plan, and every premium feature grouped into one $2 tier, is a different shape from the tiered ladders that dominate the category. The site is candid that the free plan is free for as long as it's sustainable rather than guaranteed forever, and that the Pro fee helps offset server costs, which reads as a small product being straightforward about its economics. The roadmap, the changelog and custom statuses are all on the free plan, which the comparison page notes some competitors charge up to $99 a month for.
The limitations are the flip side of the same choice. It's a young product with a short track record, there's no annual billing option shown, the site doesn't advertise integrations beyond the Upvoty import, and the team features are tagging, assignment and notes rather than a full product management workflow. If you need feedback wired into an issue tracker or SSO for a large team, this isn't built for that yet.
Access is freemium. The free tier includes unlimited boards, requests, votes and comments, the roadmap, the changelog and email notifications. Pro is $2 a month, cancel anytime, upgraded from any board's settings, and adds private invite-only boards, a custom domain, removal of the Powered by Say Toucan badge and custom CSS. There's a contact page on the site but no published email address.
