Best new tools this week (20 October 2026)

It was a broad builder week on Tool Index, with 60 newly approved listings spanning app infrastructure, AI coding workflows, browser utilities, game creation and feed control. The clearest thread is practical control, from local model planning and agent connections to browser based document processing.

PowerSync stands out because the directory also published a closer look at its local first SQLite approach. Elsewhere, the featured set gives builders sharper ways to package coding rules, connect agents to working systems and judge local LLM performance before choosing hardware.

Tool of the week

PowerSync The sync engine for real-time, fast, consistent, network-resilient applications.

PowerSync keeps a client side SQLite database in sync with an existing backend so apps can stay responsive and work offline. It earns the lead for tackling a hard infrastructure problem while keeping the write path under the builder's control.

Worth a look

100KB SDK, Process and compress images and PDFs inside the browser with WebAssembly. It can split PDFs as well as compress files, giving apps more client side document control without an upload step.

Wysebee, Connect a local AI agent to browsers, containers, databases, and APIs. Its form based tool templates require no SDK, server code or deployment, and stored API credentials stay out of the model.

llmspeed, Preview how fast a local LLM will feel on different hardware. It mixes community benchmarks with projections, so builders can see which speed estimates are measured before comparing a setup.
